Plan center-based opportunities with appropriate environments and materials for independent and/or small group time to explore the concepts presented and practice the language being learned. These are child-initiated and adult-facilitated learning opportunities where the adult listens and responds to the child’s active discovery, scaffolding language to promote deeper concept and content knowledge.
